Kilifi County Governor hopeful Gideon Mung'aro has declared a political war on the incumbent Amason Kingi ahead of the August polls.
The Kilifi North MP who set into motion a wave of defections from ODM to Jubilee Party is seen as Kingi's biggest threat in the forthcoming poll.
Speaking at Mariakani, Kilifi County on Wednesday, where he was in the company of Deputy President William Ruto, Mung'aro poked holes into Kingi's development record and vowed to send him home in August.Mung'aro said that Kingi has failed Kilifi residents, adding that it is high time the electorate sent him home. “The Governor has been busy engaging in politics and rallying the residents to support ODM without telling them what development he has for them,” said Mung'aro. The MP, who is Jubilee's point-man in the region, urged area residents to embrace the current regime based on their good development record in the county.Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho have been Jubilee's headache in the region as they seek to get a share of the votes that may tilt the scales in their favour as the race for August polls hots up.
