Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro has dismissed Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's 2022 presidential bid.
The MP took issue with Joho's move of installing himself as the de facto leader of the Coast region.
Speaking in an interview with The Nation, Munga'ro said that Joho can not be the Coastal kingpin, as he comes from a minority ethnic group.
The MP, who quit ODM on Sunday, reiterated Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and Nyali MP Hezron Awiti's sentiments that the governor has failed to manage the county.
"It will not be business as usual in the Coast, which overwhelmingly voted for ODM in 2013,” said Mung'aro.
“By ODM simply winning the Malindi by-election in March, Mr Joho should not think that he is very popular in Coast,” added the MP.
He further accused the governor of imposing himself on the people, adding that he will face a baptism of fire come 2017.
