Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro who is also eying the Kilifi governor seat on a Jubilee Party ticket has dismissed the recent campaigns by the opposition NASA coalition in the region.
Terming the rallies inconsequential, Mung'aro said much has changed in the region since 2007 and that Kilifi is no longer an ODM zone as it was four years ago, where Raila Odinga’s ODM Party confirmed its dominance as it swept nearly all the elective seats.Mung'aro said the perception that the county is an ODM party zone is misleading, and warned the Orange party to be prepared for a shocker during the August polls. While urging locals to support the Jubilee Party and the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, the lawmaker said the current administration has had an unmatched development record. The former Minority Whip in parliament who promised to deliver majority of the county's votes to Jubilee during the August polls, further asked Raila to stop imposing leaders with his six-piece call.He said the electorate should be left to choose the leaders of their choice.Mung'aro is Jubilee Party's point man in the county that has over 500,000 votes up for grabs.
