According to The Star, the Dabaso declaration was made at Mung’aro’s homestead in Kilifi County on Monday.

This comes after the MP led a section of ODM rebels to defect to the government side during the launch of the Jubilee Party at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

Leaders who were present when the declaration was made include Kilifi South MP Mustafa Idd, Kwale Women Representative Zeinab Chidzuga and Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani and delegates from the six coastal counties.

Mung’aro has already announced he will contest for the Kilifi gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, if he secures the nominations.

He said Jubilee has a strong footing at the Coast following the recent defection of Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and his Lamu counterpart Issah Timamy to the ruling coalition.

He vowed to 'storm' Governor Hassan Joho’s backyard to popularise Jubilee and weaken Orange Democratic Movement ahead of the 2017 polls.

He said he decided to lead his fellow Cord leaders to Jubilee in a bid to ensure they benefit from the fruit's of government.

Mung'aro and his team promised to deliver the much needed Coast votes to the Jubilee Party and president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.
