Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro continued with his campaign in the populous Kaloleni constituency on Tuesday where he met various groups.
In a meeting with leaders at Mwanamwinga, Mung’aro urged residents to elect leaders who will be able to take care of their interests irrespective of their party affiliation. The lawmaker, who took issue with the current leadership of Governor Amason Kingi, alleged that the county has been swindling funds at the expense of the electorate.According to Mung'aro, despite the county having an annual allocation of Sh9.8 billion, there is nothing to show for the huge budget. The County government has in the past denied receiving an annual allocation of Sh9.8 billion from the central government with Kingi asking the President to publicly apologize for 'lying’.While exuding confidence that he will trounce Kingi during the August poll to become the next Kilifi governor, the legislator said “Kingi has already sensed defeat and should be prepared to go home as voters will punish him for his failure”.Mung'aro who is President Uhuru Kenyatta's point man in the region further asked the locals to rethink their political stance and vote for Jubilee Party which he said is poised to form the next government.
