Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has said he will not live a lavish lifestyle as the common mwananchi continues to languish in abject poverty if elected governor in the August polls.Addressing his supporters in Chakama, Malindi Sub-County on Friday, Mung'aro said he is ready to sell property belonging to the governor for the sake of his people if accorded the mandate to become the next county boss. The governor hopeful said he will sell the Sh140 million mansion belonging to Governor Amason Kingi and a chopper which the governor is said to have acquired in a bid to develop the area, The Star reports. The outspoken leader also took a swipe at Kingi’s administration, claiming it had invested in the wrong projects.According to Munga’ro, the chopper and mansion are a clear waste of tax payers money.“I'll be staying at [my] home in Dabaso. No need to retain such a facility, which costs taxpayers huge sums of money,” said Mung'aro, as quoted by The Star. The MP further faulted Kingi for allegedly tolerating corruption instead of investing in viable projects such as irrigation in a bid to transform the lives of residents.
