Addressing residents over the weekend, Mung’aro said time has come to liberate the region from Kingi's and Joho's poor leadership.

The MP lashed out at Kingi, claiming that he just sits and watches as Joho runs the county's affairs.

“Its unfortunate that our dear county has lost its independence to the poor leadership and vision less Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who has been controlling its day to day running from Mombasa, while our governor is just watching and dancing to his tune,” said Mung’aro, as quoted by Baraka FM.

The outspoken leader further called upon Kingi to explain to residents why he accompanied Joho to a police station to demand the release of a suspected drug baron.

“Let Kingi tell Kilifi residents why he should be supporting the same people who have been killing and destroying our youths with drugs,” he added.

When contacted by the local daily, Kingi refused to comment on the matter, saying everyone is entitled to their views.
