The legislature said leaders from the Coast region who are working closely with the ruling government, have been successful in pushing for development projects in the region.

“Several projects have been initiated due to our engagement with the government,” said Mung'aro.

He cited several projects such as construction of the Maveuni-Kaloleni road, the Sh2 billion Ronald Ngala College in Vipingo and Mombasa-Malindi highway among others.

Mung'aro also attributed the recent appointments of Ramadhan Kajembe to the Kenya Ferry Services Board, and Catherine Wairi as the new KPA managing director to their lobbying, which he said they did when the president attended the 41st KSSHA conference in Mombasa.

“These appointments do not just come by chance. We held consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta when he attended the teachers’ conference in Mombasa recently,” said Mung'aro.

He said his group has pushed tirelessly for the government to initiate several projects in the region for the benefit of the residents, adding that he will continue to do so without fear or favour.

The MP has pledged to launch a massive campaign at the Coast, to drum up support for Jubilee.
