Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro's bid for the Kilifi Governor seat has received a major boost following an endorsement by women leaders from Kambe-Ribe in an event held on Tuesday.
Speaking when he met the women leaders, Mung'aro affirmed his commitment to growing and nurturing women in leadership.
While urging women to provide mentorship to the young ladies in the county, the lawmaker noted that Kilifi County stands to benefit a lot if women are given an opportunity to lead.
He said if elected Kilifi Governor, he will ensure gender inclusiveness in his administration.
The women who used the occasion to return the favour, declared their support for Mung'aro who is keen to unseat Governor Amason Kingi in the August polls.
Mung'aro is seen as Governor Kingi's biggest threat in the race that has also attracted former Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi.
Mung'aro has always put Kingi who is ODM's point man in the county on toes on various matters affecting the county.
However, despite the onslaught against him, the incumbent remains optimistic that he will win a second term in office.
