Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro has asked Governor Amason Kingi to outline the projects he has initiated in the county since taking over office.
Mung’aro, who is seeking to dethrone Kingi, said the governor has not done much to change the lives of the residents despite being in office for the last four years. The vocal MP accused Kingi of misusing the billions he has been receiving from the national government."Kingi is banking on the political party (ODM). He should tell people what he has done during his tenure. He has failed and has nothing to offer for Kilifi people,” said Mung’aro, as quoted by The Star. The gubernatorial aspirant has intensfied campaigns in different parts of Kilifi as he looks forward to dethroning Kingi, a close ally of Governor Hassan Joho. On his part, Kingi has remained unshaken ahead of the August polls. He has exuded confidence that he will beat Mung’aro and other rivals hands down come August. The county boss believes his performance scoreboard will give him another term in office. The rivalry between the two leaders has taken center stage in the region’s politics, with both promising to deliver the region’s vote to their party leader.
