Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro has promised to deliver one million votes to President Uhuru Kenyatta during the 2017 general election.
Mung'aro promised to mobilise Coast residents in large numbers to ensure President Kenyatta maintains his seat.
The MP also promised to make sure the residents register in mass, to ensure they take part in next year's polls and vote for the Jubilee government.
“We will deliver one million votes for the president. The opposition has let down the coastal region and it is time for change," said Mung'aro, as quoted by News24.
The legislature said leaders at the Coast want change, adding that that is one of the main reasons why they have decided to decamp to Jubilee.
The MP said he will defend his seat on a Jubilee party ticket.
This comes after Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and his deputy Fatuma Achani defected to Jubilee.
The governor said he defected following a plot by a section of ODM leaders to deny him an ODM ticket to defend his seat.
