Former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana and Tana River speaker Dr Nuh Nasir have joined forces in a bid to unseat Governor Hussein Dado during the next general election.
The two leaders made their first public appearance together at Basargiesa where they addressed residents.Mungatana said they have what it takes to dethrone Dado from the county’s top seat come August 8.On his part, Dr Nasir assured Mungatana that he will rally residents to back his election bid.Mungatana and Nasir have been launching attack after attack on the current county leadership over alleged failure to keep its pre-election pledges.The leaders have promised Dado a run for his money as the next general poll draws closer. Mungatana has continued to receive support from different groups despite being accused of master minding the Sh51 million Kilifi county graft scandal.The Pokomo community has already endorsed Mungatana for the seat. However, Dado has said he is confident he will beat Mungatana hands down come August 8.He said he has initiated different projects in the county, adding that he deserves another term in office to complete what he started four years ago.
