Speaking when he toured Peponi and Buni villages, Mungatana said Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) principal Raila Odinga should not be given the freedom to make unsubstantiated allegations.

He said Raila and his team are making such remarks out of fear of losing in the next general election.

“This is fear and despondency mongering,” Mungatana said, as quoted by The Star.

The former Garsen MP also said that matters of security are very sensitive and the opposition should not speak about them without facts.

“Security is paramount in this country. He should not assume that Jubilee supporters will be safer when chaos erupt,” he said.

Raila and other leaders from the opposition have vowed to fight for the use of the electronic identification of voters and transmission of results to avoid cases of rigging.
