Tana River governor aspirant Danson Mungatana has promised the electorate an all-inclusive and accountable leadership if he ascends to power in August.

Mungatana, a former Garsen MP, said his government will take care of the needs of the people of Tana River, adding that he will not sideline any region if given the mandate to become the next governor. Speaking after he named Mr Hassan Bare Kuno as his running mate, the politician said he will transform the county’s economy by initiating different projects in the livestock, fisheries and agriculture sectors among other areas. “We will put the resources into livestock keeping, fisheries, and agriculture as well as small and medium enterprises to boost the economy of our people and improve their living standards,” said Mungatana on Tuesday during an event held in Hola Town. The governor hopeful took a swipe at the current leadership for mismanaging resources of the county. “We are going to come up with a formidable line-up that will unseat Dado because he has completely mismanaged the county’s resources,” said Mungatana. The aspirant, who will be contesting for the seat on a Kenya Patriots Party (KPP) ticket, is set to lock horns with the incumbent, Governor Hussein Dado.
