The Party of National Unity (PNU) has said it will punish former Meru Governor Peter Munya for joining the National Super Alliance (Nasa).
Munya on Tuesday met President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi, and announced he had decamped from Nasa, where he stayed for just 8 days.
The former governor’s U-turn attracted criticism from Nasa supporters, who claimed he was bribed by Jubilee to ditch Raila Odinga - the Nasa presidential candidate.
PNU National chairman John Kamama has said Munya must be punished for his move to join Nasa.
“He moved to NASA and the party will decide on the way forward because he declared support for our political opponents, which is illegal," Kamama told The Nation on phone.
On September 4, Munya said he decamped from Jubilee because he was rigged out in the August Meru gubernatorial election.
Munya lost to Governor Kiraitu Murungi of Jubilee Party.
“Nasa helped us with gathering evidence for the petitions. Do we work with those who stole from us or those who helped us catch the thief?” Munya asked his supporters in Nyambene after joining Nasa.
