This aim to ensure the party which was used by the former president Mwai Kibaki, get more support ahead of Munya's 2022 presidential ambitions.

The Meru County governor opened PNU offices in Kenol and Gatanga, Murang'a County; and another in Thika, Kiambu County, Friday.

He also held a meeting with the PNU team of aspirants in Murang'a and re-assured the party's support for president Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

"We welcome all to register and run in the Party of National Unity. As PNU we are steadfast in our support for President Uhurus re-election. We shall field for all other elective positions in the coming elections,'' he affirmed.
