Former Meru Governor Peter Munya on Tuesday met President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi.
Munya, who a week ago announced his support for Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga, said he will now campaign for Uhuru.
After he joined Nasa, other Party of National Unity (PNU) leaders distanced themselves from Munya's move.
The leaders said PNU was fully behind Uhuru.
On Tuesday September 12, Munya and two other PNU officials in a statement said, “After thorough consultations with party members, elders and supporters across the country, it has been agreed that in the very best interest of the country, we support the re-election of His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming presidential election.”

On September 4, Munya said he has decided to join Odinga's camp because he was rigged out by Uhuru's Jubilee Party.
“I confirm that today I have joined the Nasa family. My election was stolen and I cannot join those who stole my election,” Munya said then.
Munya lost to Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
