Meru governor Peter Munya has rejected interim results of the August 8 general election.

Speaking on Wednesday, Munya claimed that the rigging was computerized.

"We are back to the old KANU days where elections were stolen to divert the will of the will of the people."

IEBC officials officials are still counting votes for many positions.

But the tally for 1,418 polling stations out of the 1,473 in Meru showed Jubilee Party candidate Kiraitu Murungi had 271,874 votes (52.17 per cent) by 5.40pm today.

Munya of PNU followed with 222,981 votes (42.79 per cent) and in third place was Kilemi Mwiria with 16,751 votes or 3.21 per cent support.

The outgoing county boss had been certain of victory during campaigns that saw he and Kiraitu tear into each other.
