Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka has promised to deliver over 1.2 Million Kamba votes to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party in the August 8 election.
The MP says that Kambas are solidly behind President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid.
Munyaka revealed that they are targeting 1.2 Million votes in the three Ukambani counties (Machakos, Kitui and Makueni).
He stated that Kambas will not be blinded to vote for the opposition this time round.
“Kambas are not going to be blinded into casting their votes where there is no hope,” he said as quoted by the Star.
Munyaka said that the Jubilee team steering campaigns in Ukambani have put in place strategic mechanisms to ensure that Uhuru gets over 1.2 Million votes in the August election.
The MP said that Ukambani no longer subscribes to opposition politics. Munyaka indicated that Kambas believe in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development philosophy.
The lawmaker said that NASA cannot match the development agenda Jubilee government has achieved since 2013.
Munyaka criticized NASA saying it lacks agenda for the country. He said that the Raila- Kalonzo line up unveiled last week will lose terribly in August because it lacks objectivity and is led by selfish interests.
He warned locals against NASA saying the alliance has nothing to offer Ukambani.
Munyaka is among Kamba politicians who decamped from their parties and joined Jubilee last year. He defected from Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) in favour of Uhuru’s party.
Other defectors who joined Jubilee from Wiper are Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central MP), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni MP), John Munuve (Mwingi North), Rachel Nyamai, Regina Ndambuki and TIP TIP leader Kalembe Ndile.
