Machakos residents have been urged to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat presidential election slated for next month.
According to Victor Munyaka, the area MP, a time has come for Ukambani to join President Kenyatta so as to benefit from development projects from the Jubilee administration.
"President Kenyatta and his government has shown great commitment to transform this county. Let's support his re-election bid and we will not be disappointed," he said.
The MP cited the development of Konza Techno City and other projects the government has initiated in the area, calling on residents to ditch NASA which he said had no agenda for people of Ukambani.
"It is only after I joined Jubilee that I was able to get funds to develop my constituency. Our people will remain poor if they insist sticking with the Opposition," the lawmaker remarked.
Munyaka was speaking during a Jubilee campaign rally attended by Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday at Kimutwa.
The DP announced the government would construct a technical training college in the area at a cost of Sh50 million.
Ruto was also accompanied by MPs Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Fabian Muli (Kangundo), Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South) and Kikuyu's Kimani Ichung'wa.
Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was also in attendance.
