Juja MP Francis Munyua has vowed to spearhead the re-election of Kiambu Governor William Kabogo in 2017.
The MP says Kabogo deserves another term to complete the development projects his government has initiated.
According to the MP, Kabogo remains the best suited candidate for the Kiambu governor seat.
Munyua said Kabogo has streamlined development across the county without favour.
“I will be leading campaigns for re-election of Kabogo in 2017 elections,” said the lawmaker.
The lawmaker who spoke at Juja town on Wednesday after holding a meeting with religious leaders said the county will not achieve development if Kabogo is not re-elected as governor in 2017.
He said candidates who have shown interest in the seat are not suitable and don’t qualify for the job.
Munyua urged MPs and MCAs in the area to back Kabogo’s re-election.
He also asked elected leaders to support Kabogo’s government.
The lawmaker said a standoff pitting some MPs and Kabogo threatens to derail development.
The MP at the same time urged residents to remain peaceful ahead of the 2017 elections.
He told them to shun politicians who spew hatred in their political rallies.
