[Photo: The Star]Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has answered former NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga on allegations that he once advised President Uhuru Kenyatta publicly to be a dictator to 'save Kenya'."What this country needs now is a benevolent dictator. People have been too soft so that things have gone rogue," Murathe told KTN News on September 29 during an interview. However, Murathe has told off Raila for 'misquoting' him saying he took it out of context."What I was telling them (NASA) is that this country must have a sense of discipline like Malaysia had under Mahathir Mohamad or Singapore under Lee Kuan Yew.We do not want a situation where people want to use the constitution to trample on the rights of others," Murathe told KTN's Big Story program on Tuesday.Murathe said Kenya should borrow a leaf from such 'strong leaders' adding that the situation where people demands without considering issues at hand is untenable."In Kenya, people just wake up and make a pronouncement to the effect that if you do not do this, or if you don't it my way, something won't take place. Who are you to say that? There is nothing like absolute rights!  Your rights end where mine start," Murathe added. The Uhuru confidant also termed Raila's withdrawal from the presidential race as on that was 'precedented but inconsequential as it has no backing in law'.
