Anthony Oluoch who hails from Rarieda in Siaya County was arraigned before court for his alleged role in the murder of Jacob Otieno on February 7 at Rabuor, Kisumu East Sub-County.

The accused who was present before the court, first appeared before Justice Esther Maina who directed that he be taken through a mental assessment at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

The court also directed that the accused be accorded with a state counsel and production order issued to serve as a notice of the coming court appearances.

Ms Maina also directed that the accused be remanded at Kisumu Central Police Station as police proceeded with their investigations.

When the matter came up before court on February 23, Mr Oluoch was not able to take plea owing to his absence on grounds that he was taken to hospital.

But on Wednesday when he was arraigned at the High Court in Kisumu he pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder.

The case will be mentioned on April 14 and a hearing on June 21.
