Police in Tayari village in Molo have launched a probe into an incident where the body of a man was found dumped outside a local pub over the weekend.
The body had fractures and police believe he was killed elsewhere before being dumped outside the pub.
Confirming the incident, Tayari village chief Hassan Waweru said they have launched investigations to establish the motive behind the killing.
He said the body of the deceased was discovered on Saturday morning.
“We have launched investigations to establish those behind the killing,” he said.
The chief decried rising cases of people being killed and their bodies dumped, saying there is need for the public to work with law enforcers to curb crime.
He said two people have been found killed in mysterious circumstances in the past two months, noting that police will not tire up in fighting criminal elements.
He assured residents of their safety, urging them to fully embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative as sure way of promoting security.
