Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has accused Jubilee politicians of doctoring ballot boxes belonging to Embakasi East.
In a post on his Facebook page Saturday, Babu alleged that his opponent Francis Mureithi was making new seals and locking the ballot boxes after breaking into them.
The MP further alleged that his opponent and the government are working together to stuff the boxes in a bid to recount votes in the ongoing Embakasi East election petition.
"The government together with Francis Mureithi my weak opponent is making new seals similar to the ones used by IEBC to lock the ballot boxes, after breaking into them at Industrial Area, the intention is to stuff ballot papers and order for a recount of votes in Embakasi East," posted Babu.
On Friday, Babu was arrested and he had alluded that it was the work of his opponent and Director of Criminal Investigations Nairobi County Mr Nicholas Kamwende on realisation that he was going to win the petition against his victory on the August 8, 2017 elections. Babu also alleged that a bribe of Ksh 200 000 exchanged hands at Sankara hotel before his arrest on Friday.
