Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called for calm ahead of Thursday's presidential polls.
Speaking during a prayer rally at Nakuru's Afraha Stadium Sunday, the Senate leader of majority further urged Kenyans to pray for the country and observe peace as the disputed process approaches.
Murkomen who insisted on the need for tolerance and forgiveness led the way by apologizing to any person he might have unconsciously wronged during the campaign trail.
''I want to apologize to anybody from all of our political fronts who might have taken issue with my actions or utterances.I also request all Kenyans to observe peace as we approach the big day ahead of us,'' said Murkomen.
He also called upon the opposition alliance,NASA,to soften its anti-election stand, calling upon its leaders to support the government as it campaigns for a peaceful poll.
Murkomen said that NASA's 'no election on 26th' push is aimed at further setting the nation back, urging the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led alliance to drop the slogan.
''Let those who want to vote be allowed to peacefully do so.Those who are against the exercise are also justified to make the decision and can do so at will. However, they should not spoil it for those who want to participate,'' he said.
