Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has attacked former Machakos Senator Johson Muthama and MP Babu Owino.
In an opinion piece published on KBC’s website, the senate majority leader said Muthama and Owino have been reckless in their speech.
The Jubilee leader said opposition leaders must respect the presidency.
“One person who has been particularly reckless and whose tongue must be tamed or cut lose has been former Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama. This senior member of the opposition – both in rank/position and in age – seems to harbor a personal grudge with President Kenyatta. His utterances portray him as someone lacking in wisdom and restrain, the very things that separate maturity and childishness,” said Murkomen.
“For Babu, it was not enough to insult the President, he chose to also target a key member of his family. Thank God his brief stint in remand seems to have driven some manners into his head.”
Murkomen said respect is fundamental and the dignity of the office of the president must be protected.
