Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has hit out at the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga for linking Safaricom to irregularities in the August 8 polls.According to Raila, who spoke to the press on Tuesday, Safaricom alongside Safran firm conspired to rig the August elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta."Safaricom was thus contracted to provide two exclusive VPNs for this purpose. It has since come to our knowledge that one of these VPNs terminated at a cloud server registered in Spain but operated from France under the control of OT Morpho," said Raila."Furthermore, when purported results started streaming onto the portal without accompanying forms 34A/B, Safaricom’s senior management knew that these results did not come from the KIEMS kits. Why did Safaricom not alert the authorities that there was an illegal activity taking place?" he posed. But the Jubilee senator has dismissed the former prime minister's allegations saying he won't get any votes by blaming safaricom."Baba is blaming anything & everything. Blaming Safaricom for not getting votes & Safaricom pay bill for not getting campaign cash. Hilarious," wrote Murkomen on his twitter handle, Tuesday.
