The Twitter feud between Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and activist Boniface Mwangi has escalated as the two continue to engage in a war of words.
Mwangi had earlier attacked the Senate Majority leader, accusing him of being President Uhuru Kenyatta’s sycophant.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Mwangi used derogatory terms to describe Murkomen’s alleged sycophancy, asking him to change his mindset before they "can engage in common sense".
The vocal activist was responding to Murkomen’s tweet in which the Senator had criticised Chief Justice David Maraga for weighing in on the government’s defiance on court orders.
“On what legal basis does a CJ issue a press statement on a matter which is alive in court? Isn’t the CJ interfering with judicial independence? Can’t he wait for his time to hear the matter in SCORK? Judges speak from the bench through rulings and judgments not press statements,” said Murkomen.
Maraga had issued a statement on the failure to comply with court orders, contending that compliance of court orders was not an option but an obligation that must be adhered to by every individual, as well as government officials and institutions.
In a rejoinder on Friday, Murkomen hit out at Mwangi, terming him an “uncivilised sore loser”.
Murkomen further blasted the vocal activist, arguing he lacks the intellectual capacity to engage with him.
“God has blessed me in a manner you can only envy. Sore and bitter losers are always uncivilised. Since you don’t have the intellectual capacity to engage me I can understand why your language revolves around the human rear part and it’s waste,” read Murkomen’s tweet.
Mwangi was, however, quick to respond, accusing Murkomen of being involved in the NYS graft scandal.
“YOU ARE A THIEF! YOU STOLE NYS MONEY! WHY WOULD I ENVY A THIEF? You have nothing for me to envy. You are right, l have no capacity to engage a thief…. You are too crass for my class!” read Mwangi’s tweet in part.
“You are ravenous Boni that is why your examples revolve around alimentary canal and NYS. Sorry, I can’t feed you buddy,” Murokomen responded.
