Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has rubbished claims that military personnel and agents are trailing Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Wednesday, the lawmaker claimed that the assertions made earlier in the week by Siaya Senator James Orengo are aimed at seeking sympathy votes ahead of the August polls.
“You do not convene a press conference when the life of an individual is in danger. You need to report the matter to law enforcers who will investigate and take appropriate action," he said.
“As a country, we are not going to entertain alarmist statements by leaders across the political divide, especially now that the August 8 election is drawing closer," he added.
His sentiments were reiterated by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, who challenged the Opposition to table evidence on their claims.
