Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed the candidature of former Inspector General of police David Kimaiyo.
Murkomen has called on Kimaiyo.
According to Murkomen, the Jubilee candidate, Kimaiyo should not vie because the office is not for people who had already worked in the public service sector.
"We can’t allow this county to become a retirement place for those who have served their terms in public office,” he said after presenting his nomination papers to the county's IEBC returning officer on Monday.
The incumbent said Kimaiyo will make no difference as he failed the police service despite serving for 40 years.
Murkomen said he was ready to defeat Kimaiyo and three independent candidates in the August 8 polls.
