Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has dared Cord to go on with their planned demos and asked the opposition outfit to make them daily.
Speaking on Facebook, Murkomen hit at the opposition and told them that they had freedom to hold their protests whenever and wherever they wanted.
“Cord should be allowed to hold daily protests over IEBC. I suggest that they should be given freedom to protest every day in all counties they should choose,” posted the senator.
He also mocked the opposition that they should provide a schedule on how they run so that the police would plan on how to provide security.
“They will provide certainty and give proper notice to all Kenyans who are likely to be infringed. It will also help the police to plan how to provide security,” he said.
He accused the opposition for not knowing and not being ready over what they wanted to table about IEBC dialogue.
“Cord is now stuck because they never expected us to say yes. They even do not know what exact problems they have with IEBC,” he said.
Murkomen's sentiments come just hours before Cord hit the streets again in their bid to force the ouster of IEBC commissioners.
The opposition coalition had earlier warned that their protests would increase to two every week, defying the police directive forbidding all political demonstrations in the country.
It still remains uncertain whether or not Cord will go on with the demos.
