Senate majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has mocked his counterpart Minority leader Moses Wetangula terming him a casualty of President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga handshake.
Murkomen was speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony at his Alma mater school, St Patricks’ High School, where laughed at Wetangula following the move by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to write to the Senate Speaker seeking his removal on Thursday, March 14.
“Wetangula has been laughing and mocking me for a very long time but he has become the greatest casualty of Raila’s and Uhuru’s handshake that has firmly reunited this country. Things have begun changing and he is on the receiving end this time round, ” Murkomen said.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet senator further hit back at other NASA principals saying they were desperate to meet the president like Raila, and that he will try his best to ensure their wish is granted.
"My senior colleague was very rigid and hit out at me at every opportunity but never got the bigger picture, it is wise that he issomehow swallowing his pride and seeking audience with the president,” he said.
"I will try my best to present this issue to the President when he comes back from Cuba, the three NASA principals are desperate to meet him and I believe it is a great move for our country,” he added.
