Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has claimed powerful ODM MPs close to party leader Raila Odinga received part of the NYS scandal money.
He also claimed the MPs are among powerful politicians working round the clock to ensure former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru is not prosecuted over the NYS scandal.
Murkomen said companies linked to Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, one of Mr Odinga's close allies were paid over Sh100 million in contracts by the Devolution Ministry which was then headed by Waiguru.
Junet and Suba MP John Mbadi, he alleged are among high-profile politicians protecting Waiguru from facing the law over the scam in which the taxpayer lost over Sh1 billion.
"They don't want her prosecuted because they benefited from the scandal," he said in Iten on Saturday as quoted by the Star.
He said the two should be investigated.
Murkomen has adversely been mentioned as one of the MPs who benefitted from the Sh1.6 billion NYS money.
Together with Deputy President William Ruto's aide, Farouk Kibet, the two are said to have received Sh15 million.
Murkomen accused Parliament's Public Accounts Committee of failing to live up to its expectations.
"Instead they (Junet and Mbadi) are being used to protect Waiguru," he said.
"It is unfortunate that ODM lawmakers who are members of PAC are working with the former CS to ensure she is not held responsible for her actions."
When Waiguru appeared before PAC, she told the Committee that Murkomen and Kibet were linked to NYS scandal's key suspects.
She said Murkomen, through his law firm, Sing'oei, Murkomen and Sigei Advocates received Sh15 million from NYS.
Mbadi has maintained that Murkomen and Kibet appear before PAC to provide information on their links to the scandal.
