Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said that Nasa's much-anticipated manifesto is not only 'underwhelming but also a document that even mid-level management cannot use as a policy document.'

"Nasa manifesto discusses matters that are clerical in nature and is full of inconsistencies with the constitution. There a lot of things that Nasa promises to do that the Jubilee government has already completed. For example, they are talking about the transition to county governments. That is an absolete idea since transition ended a long time ago and the Transition Authority dissolved," Murkomen said on Tuesday during Citizen TV's The Big Question.

Murkomen termed the manifesto as 'nothing' saying it addresses 'nothing': "For instance where does that manifesto talk about the 'unga' they have been jumping around the country promising Kenyans? They only say that they will have maize collection centres. I ask, collect whose maize?"

The lawyer-turn-politician also rubbished the manifesto as one full of generalities and with nothing specific.

"Jubilee yesterday we launched a manifesto that is specific on how we are going to address various issues that we have promised Kenyans. Nasa on the other hand only states issues without telling us how they will implement them. Everything in Nasa manifesto is ridiculous, that am forced to think that inclusion of football commentaries typical of their flagbearer's rhetoric would have made more sense," added Murkomen.

However, Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang dismissed Murkomen's arguments on Nasa manifesto asking him to talk about Jubilee's and their 'dismal performance in the last four years.'

"The document was launched barely one hour ago and Murkomen is here shouting himself hoarse on something he hasn't even read. Let him talk about their Jubilee manifesto and their failures," said Kajwang.
