Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen now accused Parliamentary Accounts Committee of allegedly shielding former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguri from alleged theft of Sh791 million from the National Youth Service (NYS).
The outspoken senator has been linked with the theft leading to pressure from a section of leaders demanding that he is summoned by PAC for interrogation.
On Saturday however, Murkomen accused the committee of being ‘soft’ on Waiguru claiming that she had compromised them.
“PAC is trying to be soft on Waiguru. All the reports indicates that she is directly involved with the loss of money yet she is still free,” he said.
“Some bad mouthed leaders like John Mbadi are speaking carelessly yet the person to be held labile is scot free. We cannot allow the committee to run its business in their convenient way. Waiguru must take responsibility,” he added.
Last week, Suba MP John Mbadi demanded that Murkomen and Farouk Kibet (an aide to DP William Ruto) are summoned by the committee.
