Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said he will take legal action against former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru for linking his law firm into the Sh1.6 billion theft at the National Youth Service.
Murkomen said Ms Waiguru lied when she said his law firm was paid Sh5 million from the NYS loot.
“Her efforts to divert the attention and disparage our law firm are ill aimed. We are consulting with a view to take appropriate legal action,” he said.
The senator accused Ms Waiguru of dragging the innocent into the scam.
“Ms Waiguru thinks by dragging other innocent people to the whole theft of public funds by her and her surrogates, she will not be held accountable.” he said.
Waiguru implicated Murkomen in the scandal when she appeared before the Public Accounts Committee two weeks ago.
