Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, he said, will be Mr Odinga's running mate in the 2017 general election.

According to Murkomen, the Opposition chief has promised to pick Governor Ruto as his running mate in next year’s race to State House.

"Governor Ruto has been promised Deputy President's position by Raila and that is the reason the governor has been undermining DP William Ruto's leadership," said Murkomen.

This comes after the former Prime Minister was hosted by the Chama Cha Mashinani leader at his home in Chepalungu.

Speaking at Bomet Green Stadium, Murkomen said the formation of Chama Cha Mashinani party was part of the bigger plot to undermine the DP.

He added that Raila-Ruto scheme to divide President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Ruto support in the vote-rich region will fail.

"Bomet has stood out as a Jubilee zone. Any attempt to sway the region to the opposition is doomed to fail," he added.

Speaking in a parallel meeting to launch his CCM party at Ndanai Primary School the same day, Governor Ruto stated Jubilee administration has failed to lead the country in the right direction.

“Jubilee should tell us they are unable and incapable of leading this country. They should therefore hand over leadership to a different administration, ” said Ruto.
