Elgeyo-Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called for prosecution of the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru over the alleged loss of over Sh791 million from the National Youth Service kitty.
During Parliamentary Accounts Committee grilling, the once powerful CS named the outspoken senator as one of the beneficiaries.
And on Friday, Murkomen urged the nation to legalize corruption should Waiguru get off the hook adding that evidence submitted before PAC showed the massive role she played.
“I have been fighting corruption throughout my life and it’s sad that some people are linking me with what I am not aware off. Time has come for Waiguru to carry her own cross,” he said.
“I am not saying that she is guilty but the evidence before PAC implicates her directly. If she is not prosecuted, then we can as well legalize corruption,” added Murkomen, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
The parliamentary committee recently claimed that the country could have lost over Sh1.6 billion through the NYS saga.
