He noted that majority of the voters in the North Rift region are firmly behind the deputy president and warned the Kanu chairman against creating differences with the DP.

"We have entered into an agreement which will see President Uhuru Kenyatta lead for two terms then the Mount Kenya region will back Deputy President William Ruto in 2022," said Murkomen.

The Jubilee leader had accompanied the DP at Kabarnet during a fundraising over the weekend, where he decried that Senator Moi had missed out in development projects and that he should embrace working with other leaders from the region if he was a true leader.

The merger of the Deputy President's United Republican Party (URP) and President Kenyatta's The National Alliance (TNA) to form Jap has raised eye brows in Rift Valley with some residents fearing that the region risk losing political identity in terms of a strong party representation which is giving Kanu some lifeline.
