Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has opposed calls by religious leaders to ban politicians from contributing towards Church harambees.
While speaking on Sunday, Murkomen affirmed that politicians will not stop participating in Church fundraisers because it was a form of giving back to the society.
"No one will separate us from the pulpit because it is the second home to some of us. We will not be stopped from participating in Church Harambees," Murkomen said.
The senator's sentiments come at a time when Catholic Bishop Paul Kariuki banned politicians from engaging in church harambees saying that the common practice was divisive.
