ODM Senators, on Thursday, using their numerical power in the house minority wing, passed a motion to dethrone the Ford Kenya party leader, a move that is seemingly emanating from the ongoing row within opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA).

With Wetangula putting up a strong fight in defence of his seat, Murkomen observed that his efforts are unlikely to bear any fruits as ODM has the final say on the issue.

He said that by clinging on the position, Wetangula is only exposing himself to more humiliation from the bloc.

"You cannot force your colleagues to love you. They are the majority and have the final say on the this matter. Even if you succeed in retaining the post it won't mean much as you will have no one to lead," noted Murkomen.

In his defence, Wetangula claimed that the plan has been in place for some time now, vowing to stay put."

"The conspiratorial process to unseat me has been on for some time now but I promise the ones seeking my downfall that it won't be easy," he said.

ODM, which leads the opposition bloc with 20 Senators, is reportedly keen to have Wetangula's deputy and Siaya Senator James Orengo take over the seat.
