Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has sensationally claimed that Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi is set to join CORD.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, Khalwale revealed that CORD is in talks with Mudavadi to join it's ranks ahead of the 2017 elections.
Mudavadi is seen as a pillar in Western Kenya and CORD will use his influence in an attempt to consolidate support in the voter rich Western Kenya region.
However, it is not yet clear which position Mudavadi will be awarded if he joins the opposition.
The three contenders for the CORD presidential nominations are party leader Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.
Speaking to the press at Parliament buildings on Wednesday, September 21, Khalwale further revealed that CORD will revive the position of prime Minister if it wins the presidency come 2017 and preserve the position for the presidential candidate who will emerge third in it's joint nominations.
