While every religion has its own beliefs, the "dini ya Musambwa" doesn't believe in formal hospitals and medicines.

Started in 1945 by Elijah Masinde, the Musambwa's followers believe that God can heal all diseases as long as they have faith which can move mountains.

Incase of a sickness, the members are advised to pray and if necessary fast and intercede on their healing.

They say accepting treatment is opening doors for evil.

They also believe that any outcome of the disease is God's wish.

The religion's followers don't believe in immunisation or vaccination, they believe they are protected from all diseases.

Surprisingly, the religion also doesn't allow its members to take their dead kins to mortuary if they die.

They instead make a semi-morgue at home to preserve the body for a few days as they prepare for burial.

This religion has always left many mouths agape because many religions in Kenya believe in medicine no matter how strong their faith in God is.

The "Dini ya Musambwa" religion has its followers mostly among the Luhya and partly in Luo, Kikuyu and ,Kamba communities.

Most of this religion's members have in several cases been arrested for allegedly neglecting their kins by denying them medical attention when sick or parents failing to immunise their children.
