Women in Machakos have been encouraged to seek political positions.
The call was made by Rose Museu, the Wiper party's Secretary Women Affairs who said women have equal opportunities to contest and win in elections just like their male counterparts.
Museu who spoke at a Wiper party leaders meeting at Machakos Golf Club on Friday said women can make it to various political positions if they get united.
"Women have got the numbers, we should unite and support our own to clinch various political positions in the 2017 general elections," said she.
She encouraged more women to strategize well and declare their candidatures all the way from county representatives to the gubernatorial level earlier enough before it is too late.
Museu however noted that women are their own enemies as they are used by male politicians to create divisions among themselves.
She said women should not allow male politicians to take advantage of them thereby creating rifts between them for personal interests.
