Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has urged Kenyans to focus more on development rather than concentrating all their efforts on politics.
He was speaking during the second inauguration ceremony of President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday.
He further called on Kenyans to embrace peace and their families.
The Ugandan Head of State also commended Kenyans for maintaining peace in what he considered a successful electioneering period.
“I beseech all Kenyans to consider three things. The first is peace. Secondly, the prosperity of the family unit and development. The fourth is peace, but do not concentrate too much on politics and forget the other three,” he said.
“On behalf of all the people of Uganda, congratulations for the election and for maintaining peace.”
Museveni was in attendance among several other Heads of State from Africa.
The foreign leaders attending the fete included Ian Khama (Botswana), Ali Bongo (Gabon), Mohamed Farmajo (Somalia), Salva Kiir (South Sudan), Edgar Lungu (Zambia), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Ismael Guelleh (Djibouti) and PM Hailemariam Desalegn (Ethiopia).
