Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni has urged the country to now fully concentrate on building the nation and forget about the political season.
Speaking on Tuesday during the inauguration of President Kenyatta, Museveni pointed on issues to be focused on, including fostering a peaceful existence and development.
“I beseech all Kenyans to consider three things. The first is peace. Secondly, the prosperity of the family unit and development. The fourth is peace, but do not concentrate too much on politics and forget the other three,” said Museveni.
Museveni, who has been at the helm since 1986, further congratulated President Kenyatta on his win, further commending the country for holding a peaceful election.
“On behalf of all the people of Uganda, congratulations for the election and for maintaining peace,” he added.
The continent was well represented, with the president from Botswana, Gabon Somalia, South Sudan, Zambia, Rwanda, Djibouti and Ethiopia in attendance.
