Residents and visitors in Nakuru have been assured of their safety ahead of the Afraha stadium prayer and thanksgiving rally on Saturday, April 16.
South Rift regional coordinator Wanyama Musiambo on Sunday said that preparations were complete and that more security officers have been deployed in and out of the stadium.
The security boss however warned politicians against using inflammatory remarks during the rally saying doing so could be a threat to the prevailing peace in the area.
Musiambo also warned criminals against breaching the law during the event saying that they are on the look out against them.
The rally whose theme is Transforming Nakuru from a theatre of violence to a theatre of peace will be used to celebrate the acquittal of deputy president William Ruto and Joshua arap Sang by the International criminal court over crimes against humanity charges arising from the 2007/08 post-election violence.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will be among those who will be in attendance.
