Wanyama Musiambo says anyone found culpable will be charged with economic sabotage, punishable by life imprisonment.
This comes after reports by the government that members of a certain community plan to derail ongoing extension of the railway from Nairobi to Olkaria.
Young people in the area have been demanding casual jobs and disrupting projects operations.
Wanyama said the railway is an important economic government project and anyone trying to disrupt it is an enemy of the state.
'We have come to learn that some people are trying to sabotage the ongoing SGR project and we have intensified security along the route,' he said.
He was speaking in Naivasha during peace drive organized by the NCIC, Musiambo directed local administrators to educate the locals along the route.
"The chiefs are the eyes of the government on the ground and they should report any people messing with the SGR," he said.
Musiambo said the message has been relayed to residents of Narok and Kajiado counties through which the railway will pass.
