The singer whose real name is Alex Apoko is accused of attempting to kick out a family that lives in the house which reportedly belongs to a deceased foreigner.

The local family claims to have been living in the house for more than 35 years and the Pamela hitmaker claims to have been paying rent and living in the house for the past two years.

According to NTV, the family lawyer Jimmy Sausi said his client has been living in the house for the past 35 years without any complaint and Ringtone attempted to kick out the family without following due process.

In his defence, Ringtone said the incident was a burglary attempt, “I do not want to be involved in the controversy of that land. I have been paying rent and the landlord has not told me to vacate the house. The people who came over were treated like thieves and were beaten and arrested by the police.”

However, the family lawyer claims the singer tried to kick the family out in the company of one of the owner’s nephews.

“It all started about four months ago when the singer came here with the owner’s nephew and tried to take over everything. They came with welding machine and burglarised the house,” said Sausi as quoted by Nairobi News.

Ringtone is accused of ramming into parked cars in the compound but he denied the allegations.

He said he was called by a neighbour who informed him there were people cutting his fence and so he mobilised security guards to help him.
